Born and residing in Açailândia (MA), Emilly has a technical training in electro mechanics from the Federal Institute of Maranhão, and is currently planning to enter the university to study Architecture and Urbanism. Her interest in and incentive for drawing and painting emerged from the technical courses she took. Since then, she has been participating in internal selection processes, courses and workshops. Before the Arte-em-Cores project, she had participated in a selection process in São Luís.

In her panel O céu não é o limite (The Sky is not the Limit) shown here, she uses mixed techniques in acrylic on MDF, spray and texture with paper and glue. The inspiration for it comes from the current moment in the artist’s life as well as from her belief that education and knowledge are transforming powers, and thus able to broaden horizons, improve the lives of individuals and promote the common good.
