Born in Jacundá (PA), and residing in Açailândia (MA) since 2013, Maria discovered her father’s paints while she was still learning how to read and write. And that´s what sparked her passion for art. It soon evolved into an artistic expression focused mainly on sketches and realistic drawings, illustrations and editing of digital content.

Familiar with the A3 and A4 formats, Maria says that she felt scared by the challenge of creating a panel in MDF format in only 15 days. A feeling of escapism and a certain desire to escape set the tone of the work, culminating in the figure of an astronaut that she nicknamed Astro. She also used Elton John’s song Rocket Man as reference for the panel.
