Born and residing in Açailândia, Maranhão, Shay is a self-taught artist who mixes different techniques to create art on canvas, paper and fabric. Art is for her a form of self- expression and refuge. Until the beginning of the Covid-19 pandemic, she was only a hobby painter, but then necessity and opportunity led her to use her art as a means of increasing her income.

This was the first time she participated in a selection process and in a group show. In Dimensional, her panel shown here, she uses mixed techniques in spray and brush paint, combining references and materials made available to her at the project’s workshops.
