Born in Macapá (AP) and residing in Marabá (PA), Tamires is a self-taught artist with training and experience as a psychologist and physical educator. She has a special interest in the cultural mix of Southeastern Pará. Free drawing has been her driving force since her childhood, but after participating in the Arte-em-Cores project her curiosity about and interest in graphics and graphite techniques was aroused, and so she felt challenged to work with spray, in addition to the familiar brushes she worked with.

In her panel A Semente e o Tempo (The Seed and Time), she also makes use of collage. She seeks here to establish a critique of man’s predatory behavior towards the planet. According to her, the hourglass serves as an alert that we are running out of time, and if one turns it upside down, Earth will run its natural course, but men probably not.
