Benedito Sousa, better known in the artistic world as Bino Sousa, is from the city of Santa Inês in the state of Maranhão. He says he became a native of Marabá when he moved to the city at the age of six. Self-taught in visual arts, he has a degree in literature from Unifesspa. He has already held several solo and group exhibitions in Marabá, mainly at the Vitória Barros Art Gallery where he is an artist-in-residence. He has also been working there as a painting and drawing teacher since 2004. His skills with drawing paved him the way to work with several visual languages, including painting, sculpture and, more recently, graffiti and digital drawing.
