Mário is known as Oiram, or the way his name is spelled backwards. But for the artist, this version of his name carries existential meanings. At the beginning of his career, he was afraid to show his artistic skills because he considered them a hobby. However, these skills were key to help him overcome health problems and fill an important gap in his daily life. Oiram has become a professional who produces urban and canvas art. He is always looking for root references that can be linked with contemporary art movements.
The artist likes to see the impact that his works have on people, as well as the transformations brought by the courses and workshops he gives, teaching his techniques to all age groups.
Produced for the Arte-em-Colors Project, his work “Gba BiiYe”, which means “light as a feather”, is a direct allusion to religions of African origin and highlights a man who tries to live in a balanced way.
