Maraisa Moraes was born in Marabá (PA). At the age of 12, she discovered her artistic skills and started making several works with fabric painting techniques. Her interest in art led her to attend in 2016 the undergraduate course in visual arts at the Universidade Federal do Sul e Sudeste do Pará, where she studied various painting techniques.
The fine and delicate lines that structure her works shape her artistic identity. Maraisa´s references are the artists Alfredo Volpi and Augusto Morbach.
In the work “Riches”, the artist portrays her region by showing four characters that are of extreme importance to the state of Pará, namely a chestnut collector, a gold digger, a riverside dweller and an Indian, each dealing respectively with the vegetable, mineral, animal, and cultural riches of the region.
