Lea is a self-taught artist born and residing in Açailândia (MA). This was the first time she participated in a public selection process. She has had a keen interest in drawing since she was a child, and, in 2015, she discovered her passion for oil painting. She works as a commission painter, although this is not her main professional activity.
In her panel Sobrevivente (Survivor) shown here, she combines several techniques to criticize the environmental damages caused by the forest fires in 2020, portraying a tuiuiú fleeing desperately from the flames.
